David Blobaum | Co-Founder & Co-Owner
David Blobaum graduated from the University of Chicago with honors both from the college and in his major, and he received his Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology. In college, he took seriously the University of Chicago’s aim of a “Renaissance” or well-rounded education and took courses in 17 different disciplines, ranging from Statistics and Economics to Philosophy and Art History. Since then, he has devoted himself to helping students reach their potential on the SAT and ACT and, more broadly, to help them succeed through education. David is a consultant to schools on SAT/ACT best practices, continually curates and updates Summit Prep’s curriculum, personally trains each Summit Prep tutor one-on-one, and tutors a select few students himself. Eva Addae | Co-Founder & Co-Owner
Eva Addae is a Partner at Summit Prep LLC and a graduate from the University of Chicago. Following some time in the corporate world, she discovered her passion for teaching when she led a few local students in achieving incredible success on their SATs & ACTs. Dissatisfied with the “one size fits all” approach to tutoring, Eva set out to create modern teaching methodologies, techniques and motivating systems that reflect the same process. Along with her business partner, David, they developed the company’s Adaptive Learning Indexes from over 20 years of past SATs & ACTs. A decade and hundreds of students later, she proudly boasts an average score increase of 8 points on the ACT and 220 points on the SAT. Her personal philosophy is “only by knowing how one learns can knowledge be imbued and the joy of education discovered.”

Marci | Director of College Counseling
After a 10 year career as an attorney, Marci felt she belonged in the world of education, so she earned an ED.M in special education from Rutgers University and taught for 8 years. Then, as her own children were finalizing the college process, she began her counseling degree at Columbia University Teachers College and became a licensed school counselor. College counseling is a labor of love for Marci; she enjoys working with students and families to help them both understand and master the process but at the same time works to help each student uncover their individuality, identify their gifts, and showcase those in both the application and interview stage. Ideally, the process begins in the early high school years, at which time she can best help students plan and position their high school journey to prepare them for college and to stand-out to college admission officers. Her expertise extends beyond simply the applications and essay: she can also help equip students with summer programs, internships, community service, and career shadowing. Every person has a unique story; Marci helps students develop and tell theirs.

Ryan | Director of Education
Ryan is our Director of Education. He graduated from the University of Scranton with a BA in History, BS in Secondary Education, and minors in Mathematics, Philosophy, and Literature. His lifelong passion for tutoring started when he was 15, helping fellow students improve grades and test scores. For the past fourteen years, he has had one simple goal: each student walks away knowing he or she can improve. Whether teaching Math, Science, or English, Ryan will always employ the most personalized approach he can, with a firm belief that every student is fundamentally different and therefore deserves different approaches. The one firm belief, or essential truth, is that the first step is to face the challenge. Learning to conquer the challenging class, test, or essay is a life lesson that can and should be applied to any and all aspects. Ryan’s goal is to be the one to walk you through the challenges, to better equip any student for his or her future. When he is not watching the Mets lose, Ryan spends his time drawing, reading, or in the deep depths of Netflix.

Kyosuke Mitsuishi graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Mathematics and a concentration in Physics. Before coming to Summit Prep, he worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate physics, tutored at inner city schools for standardized tests, and created an ACT prep course.
Kyosuke discovered his passion for teaching early in high school when he began tutoring middle schoolers that were struggling with math. He was surprised to find out that these students’ difficulties had nothing to do with the subject and everything to do with the often unintuitive methods they were taught in class. Since then, he has loved helping students discover their personal approach to problem solving. When preparing students for standardized tests, he places additional emphasis on efficient problem solving and time management.
In his free time, Kyosuke enjoys playing soccer, reading about science, and finding investment opportunities.
