Eva Addae

Co-Founder | Co-Owner

Eva Addae is a graduate of the University of Chicago. She is a nationally recognized advocate for equity in education, specifically surrounding standardized testing. Dissatisfied with the “one size fits all” approach to education, Eva set out to create a program for customized instruction. Along with her business partner, she developed the company’s Adaptive Learning Indexes from over 20 years of past SATs & ACTs that allow teachers to create a tailored curriculum that targets each student’s individual needs. Her personal philosophy is “only by knowing how one learns can knowledge be imbued and the joy of education discovered.”

Ryan

Executive Educational Consultant

After scoring a 36 on the ACT and a 2370 (out of 2400) on the SAT in 10th grade, Ryan went from being a recruited athlete to starting a volunteer tutoring network for athletes. After graduating from the University of Scranton with a BA in History, a BS in Secondary Education, and minors in Mathematics, Literature and Philosophy, Ryan worked in the public school system (PA and NYC) for 6 years teaching AP Histories, English (Lit/Lang), Econ, and Psych. For the past fifteen years, he has had one simple goal: each student walks away knowing he or she can surpass any limit.

Whether teaching Math, Science, or English, Ryan will always employ the most personalized approach he can, with a firm belief that every student is fundamentally different and therefore deserves different approaches.

Patrick Summit Prep tutors Summit Prep

Patrick

Executive Educational Consultant

As a university professor and longtime tutor in literature and writing, Patrick has been deeply involved in standardized test prep, college essay editing, and humanities teaching for the past 15 years. His own high school scores included Finalist standing as a National Merit Scholar and a 1560 (800 verbal, 760 math) SAT score. He then attended Johns Hopkins University on the Hodson Merit Scholarship, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a triple major in Writing, English, and Art History. From there, he earned advanced degrees in the Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars (MFA, 2010) and the McGill Department of English (MA, 2012), teaching at each university during his time as a graduate student.

Patrick currently specializes in SAT/ACT/PSAT prep, SSAT/ISEE prep, AP English prep (both Language and Literature), AP History prep (American, European, Art History), and college essay consulting. He also tutors the verbal portions of the GRE and GMAT. Before joining Summit Prep, he actively taught courses and created curriculum materials in all of these areas.

Note from Summit Prep: Patrick is a preeminent expert on the SAT Verbal section. He has written more practice questions for the Verbal section of the digital SAT than probably any other individual in the world, and his content is licensed in books and digital SAT platforms and — of course — used by Summit Prep.

Kyosuke Summit Prep tutors Summit Prep

Kyosuke

Executive Educational Consultant

Kyosuke graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Mathematics and a concentration in Physics. Before coming to Summit Prep, he worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate physics, tutored at inner city schools for standardized tests, and created an ACT prep course.

Kyosuke discovered his passion for teaching early in high school when he began tutoring middle schoolers that were struggling with math. He was surprised to find out that these students’ difficulties had nothing to do with the subject and everything to do with the often unintuitive methods they were taught in class. Since then, he has loved helping students discover their personal approach to problem solving. When preparing students for standardized tests, he places additional emphasis on efficient problem solving and time management.

In his free time, Kyosuke enjoys playing soccer, reading about science, and finding investment opportunities.

Kirill

Expert Educational Consultant

Kirill graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Biochemistry where he immersed himself as deeply as possible into the world of science, studying classes that ranged from the fundamentals (biology, chemistry, and physics) to the more intriguing (cancer genetics, physiology, pathology, etc). He did some informal tutoring in undergrad but it was while in medical school that he began tutoring more – so much so that after four years of medical school he had realized that he loved teaching science and medicine more than he liked practicing it. Instead of continuing as a doctor, he pursued what he found to be his passion and calling: teaching.

For the last 8 years he has been helping students prepare for academic subjects (particularly in the sciences) and standardized tests (the MCAT, SAT, ACT, etc). He aims not just to instill knowledge but also to cultivate a passion for it. In his free time, Kirill enjoys mountain biking, sky diving, and surfing.
